10 Ways To Stop Procrastinating

1. Set Yourself a Goal to Achieve

One of the most effective ways to fight back against procrastination is to have a goal to work towards in your life. Whether it is something as simple as completing your next essay, through to running a marathon for the first time, a goal will help you focus your energies and provide impetus to get up and get things done.
Just remember that it pays to set a realistic goal. So if you’ve never so much as picked up a microphone before, don’t expect to be a virtuoso singer by the end of the month. Setting unrealistic goals only places you in a position of likely disappointment, which is not going to encourage you to take action.

2. Discover Your Biggest Distractions

All of us are liable to be distracted by certain things. Whether it is social media, texting, or good old fashioned chinwagging with colleagues, there is bound to be something that has a tendency to keep you distracted from your work.
You need to identify your biggest distractions and time-wasters, and then try to eliminate or block them when you need to get work done.
For digital distractions, such as social media, the solution is surprisingly easy; there is a plethora of tools online that you can use to temporarily block websites for a set duration of time.
I’m a big fan of the StayFocusd extension for Google Chrome, which makes blocking websites like Facebook and Twitter an absolute breeze.
If you find yourself being distracted by coworkers, friends in the library, or family members around the house, then invest in a good pair of noise cancelling headphones for when you need to be working. These serve two purposes; firstly, you will be able to block out distracting noises. Secondly, you will put up a “defensive barrier”that discourages those around you from interrupting your workflow.
I’ve always found that the simple act of wearing a pair of headphones while working in an office prevents colleagues from interrupting me, except under truly important circumstances.

3. Keep Track of Where You are Wasting Time

In the realm of personal finance it is very much au fait to keep track of the money you spend on a daily basis. From that Starbucks coffee on the way to work, through to a takeaway lunch; the small amounts of money you spend all add up over time to create a big figure that you could have saved.
Unfortunately, this activity has not proven very popular when it comes to seeing where you spend the time in a day. In order to get a good perspective on just how much time you might be wasting due to procrastination, you need to make a concerted effort to record where you are spending your time.
I suggest carrying around a notebook and pen for the next few days, and then write down the time you spend doing everything. Keep track of seemingly insignificant events as well, such as the time spent showering, or cooking dinner, or doing laundry.
The whole point here is to build up an accurate picture so you can.
a)    See how much time you are wasting in an average day
b)    Work out exactly how you are wasting that time
This will be a truly eye-opening experience, which help put procrastination in context and inspire youto take action. You can then use the information you gather to help you identify particular activities that waste a lot of your time.

MMI DECLARATIONS
Place your hand on your heart and say the following declarations…
“My inner world creates my outer world.”
MMI “ What I heard about money isn’t necessarily true. I choose to adopt new ways of thinking that support my happiness and success.”

Strategies to Face Your Digital Addiction

There isn’t one way to face and deal with an addiction, but I recommend trying a combination of these to see what works best for you:
  1. Face the problem. What most of us do is put off thinking about the problem, or even admitting there’s a problem. It’s uncomfortable to think about what makes us feel guilty, so we put off this discomfort like we put off exercise. But ignoring the problem, pretending it doesn’t exist … that doesn’t make things better. The obstacle is the path. Face the problem, and in doing so, become more aware. See what is really happening with you. Learn about yourself. This is a valuable education.
  2. Increase awareness. You can’t change what you’re not aware of. Lots of addictions happen without us realizing what we’re doing, as we’re doing it, and only later do we feel guilty. Start to increase awareness of your urges, and your actions, while it’s happening. That means you need to have reminders around you, so that you’re constantly noticing the urges as they come up. You can still act on the urge, as you’re increasing awareness, but be aware that the urge is happening, and see what action you take, and what the result is (how do you feel afterward, what consequences are there?). This is a skill you can increase over time, with practice.
  3. See the fear. You are going to the addiction because of fear. You’re procrastinating on something harder, more uncomfortable, like work or exercise or socializing perhaps. The addiction fulfills the need you have to run to comfort, away from discomfort. Start to become aware of this fear, and shine some light on it.

2. Online Rewards Programs.  You know you’re going to buy stuff on the Internet.  Why not double down by not only using your cash back credit card, but also by making the purchase through a rewards site like eBates or Swagbucks?  Signup is free and easy.
..
4. Paid Surveys: What could be easier than clicking a few boxes regarding your opinion about something?  Marketing companies are always after this kind of info and with the accessibility of the Internet they are willing to offer you cash and prizes to get it.  Most surveys are short and only take less than 5 minutes to complete.  You won’t make millions of dollars, but it is a simple way to earn a few bucks here and there.  To get started try this site here.
5. Selling Old Items on eBay.  Most people are surprised at how much more money you can get for your old stuff on eBay as opposed to trying to sell it in a garage sale.
6. Selling Crafts on Etsy: How about instead of selling your old stuff, you sell your crafty creations?  Etsy can be very profitable if you’re good at making things for weddings, baby showers, graduations, etc.

  • Buy stock in simple, strong, sustainable businesses, and expect to be rewarded over time through stock price appreciation and dividends.
  • Focus on the value of the businesses, and not stock prices. I will ignore daily stock price movements by not keeping an online portfolio tracker and switching off all business channels.
  • Not try to time the market. I know that ‘time in’ the market, and not ‘timing’ the market, is important.
  • Buy to hold. Not buy and forget, but buy-review-hold. My intention will be to buy a stock without any plans of divorcing it.
  • Spread out my risks. I will prepare an asset-allocation plan for my equity investments, and review it from time to time.
  • Stay strong, think long
  • ...
1. Engage in consistent action.
2. Constantly picture yourself beyond your current circumstances. Dream enormously big and hold that dream deep within your mind, body and spirit.
3. Spend time in solitude to just think and visualize.
4. Write your most important goal on a note card and look at it five times a day. Say it out loud and believe with a deep conviction that it will become a reality.
5. Drink plenty of water. It's impossible to operate to the best of your ability and tap into your full potential if you are dehydrated. Our minds and bodies need water in order to perform at an extremely high-level.
6. Eat to win. If you don't want junk results stay away from junk food. The bottom line is that we are what we eat.
7. Get your sweat on. One of the best productivity tools that you can utilize is to get a workout in at some point throughout your day. Whether you go to the gym or at home, make the time.
8. Pick up a book for 15-20 minutes and get lost in it. Just as our bodies need physical exercise, our minds need to stay mentally fit.
9. Spend your time around those who lift you up and encourage your vision, not belittle it. We are the average of the five people we hang out with the most. Pick your company wisely.
10. Make time to grow. Carve out 30 min to an hour and find ways to personally and professionally grow.
11. Turn off the music in your car to an audiobook. Most of us spend hours in a car daily, utilize that time to better yourself and learn.
12. Keep a journal. Record your thoughts, ideas and strategies. We have roughly 20,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day. Don't let an idea or strategy go to waste. Never rely solely on your memory.

3 Things You Must Have to Create Your Dream Life

To systematically and reliably turn the vision you hold of your ideal life into a reality, you need 3 things:
  • The right knowledge
  • The right skills
  • The right order (a.k.a., a step-by-step system)

Thanks to my favorite sources.. :)  Hope to enjoy and have fun with 3 daily challenges.
